2019 Spring Performance Program

Eligibility - residents of Alberta, ages 10 through 12
(based on age as of April 30, 2019)

  • 20-25 Game Schedule
  • Opportunity to play with age group Selects at a couple of tournaments
  • 3 or 4 games/practices per week
  • Full MLB rules (Pitch Count Exceptions)
  • Ripken diamond (50' / 70')
  • Player Tryouts
  • March to mid July

PROGRAM BENEFITS

  • Play and train with high performance players from around Alberta
  • Eligibility for ACR Regional Select teams - 12U, 11U, 10U
  • Player fee includes all program training times
  • More and better games, longer season
Players and coaches will be trained by ACR professional coaching staff, and managed/coached on game days by Ripken volunteer staff. Our geographic boundaries encompass all of Alberta.

With a balanced approach to training, practice and competition, Alberta Cal Ripken Spring Performance Program offers players an opportunity to participate in a system designed to help athletes get better, play with like-minded peers at similar ability levels, and still stay primarily within local areas. Players will be expected to try out and, if selected, will be placed on a team. Players are free to also play within other programs.

    Note: Tryout cost for players that attended Pre-tryout Workouts will only be $20.00

SPRING LEAGUE TRYOUTS:
There will be 5 dates for tryouts. This is to ensure that in the busy month of January, all can make it out to be evaluated. Most players will be fully evaluated in 1-2 dates, however they are welcome to attend all dates for extra practice.

  • January, 5th (Sat) 5-7pm
  • January, 11th (Fri) 5-7pm
  • January, 12th (Sat) 4-6pm
  • January, 18th (Fri) 5-7pm

TEAM SELECTIONS:

  • By end of month January

PROGRAM PRACTICES (indoor/outdoor):

  • Starting March
  • Batting Practices
  • Bullpen Sessions
  • Defensive Work
  • Arm Care
  • Players / teams will be scheduled
  • Timetables will be determined
  • Team coaches working with program staff

LEAGUE COMPETITION SCHEDULE:
Games on most weekends and some weekday evenings

TOURNAMENT PLAY:
On weekends that we blank out league play, we may send age group teams to several tournaments (Spokane, Regina, etc.)

CAL RIPKEN WORLD SERIES OPPORTUNITY:
Every Year our Top Travel Team will have the opportunity to represent Canada in The 12U Cal Ripken World Series held in Branson Missouri. The kids will have the time of their life participating in an unmatched youth baseball experience while having the privilege to play against teams from all over the world and the United States. Last year was the best year yet for the program besting four out of nine teams faced, coming out on top against New Zealand, Australia, Arkansas, and North Dakota! We are looking forward to another successful World Series experience this year!

PLAYER FEE - $1050 per player - payment intervals available - (save $50 if paid in full by Feb 28)
